"How about another drink and some talk?" I shrieked. She must have been paying more attention to me this time, because she looked at me for a moment and then nodded, gesturing for me to lead the way. I took her free hand and squeezed it lightly, and led her away from the rail and back to the bar by the door. She tugged at my hand then, and led me down a short corridor into another part of the club, which seemed to be filled with thousands of church bells ringing all at once. |
