"We were supposed to go out later. Just wondered." Nickolai stood absorbing the household conversation with an emotion approaching boredom. Realizing he was bored then surprised him. He was lost in thought when a voice startled him. "Come on." Michelle and Furry were standing behind him. "Let's go upstairs." Nickolai followed her to the hole, and watched as she stepped out into the center of it, apparently floating in midair. As he followed her out into the hole, all sensations of gravity or it's perception ceased, but he was surprised not to feel the common nausea that usually went with sudden weightlessness. She smiled and grabbed one of the four bars, pulling herself up easily. He helped Furry into the weightless well and pulled himself as he had watched the Centaur do. |
