He said that we needed to check in with the manager at the bar by 10:00 if I wanted to enter. He explained that the competition did not start till 10:30, and that the regular girls worked before that. The room was semi dark and the music was loud. I clung to Craig instinctively as we entered the room filled with men. I could see just a couple of women in the crowd. It was not dirty or seedy. The men were mostly young, and only a few looked like they should be driving around in pickup trucks with gun racks. We worked our way to the bar and I could just barely see the stage area between all the men (there must have been over 300 of them!). |
