He admired her mental strength for holding out this long. In spite of the snacks available, with little else to do, she had resisted using food to fill her empty existence. Regrettably, Jason had to break that resolve. Laura wandered back and collapsed onto her bed. She was soon asleep. Silently, the doors and windows slid shut. From several vents in the floor, an acrid smoke wafted into the room.
